PANA, Ill. (WAND) - Saturday is the first Pana Popcorn Festival in Kitchell Park.

Organized by Pana Parks Revitalization Committee, the festival aims to help the organization raise money for its projects at various Pana parks.

"We were tired of asking people for money to do these projects, so we are hopeful that this will heal us financially," said member Frank Allbright.

The festival will start with a welcome ceremony on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the Chautauqua. The Popcorn Princess contest and dog show will follow that ceremony.

Live music will begin at 1 p.m. starting with Josh Holland at 1 p.m., followed by Mary Jo Curry at 4 p.m. and Chris Camp at 7 p.m.

There will be a pickleball tournament, sand volleyball tournament, Jeep show, food vendors, and activities for kids.

At 7 a.m. there will be a 5K race at the Pana High School track.
