CHARLESTON, Ill. (WAND) - Charleston Police are cracking down on college pop-up parties following a shooting at a party near Illinois State University that had more than 1,000 people attend. 

The Charleston Police Department said it is closely monitoring social media platforms for information related to pop-up parties. 

There will be more police stationed near the Eastern Illinois University campus to respond quickly to large gatherings or unsanctioned parties.  

Officers will also strictly enforce parking regulations and coordinate with emergency services at EIU.
