CHARLESTON, Ill. (WAND) - Charleston Police are cracking down on college pop-up parties following a shooting at a party near Illinois State University that had more than 1,000 people attend.Â
The Charleston Police Department said it is closely monitoring social media platforms for information related to pop-up parties.Â
There will be more police stationed near the Eastern Illinois University campus to respond quickly to large gatherings or unsanctioned parties. Â
Officers will also strictly enforce parking regulations and coordinate with emergency services at EIU.Â
