(WAND) — The CDC reports they and public health officials in several states, including Illinois, are investigating a listeria outbreak linked to recalled Yu Shang Food ready-to-eat meat and poultry products.

If you have a recalled product on this list, throw it away or return it to the store. It is also suggested that you clean any surface the recalled products may have touched, as listeria can survive in the refrigerator and contain other foods.

The recall is for all "Yu Shang" products with establishment number P46684 or EST.M46684 on the label. It stretches back to products produced prior to October 28.

The USDA Food and Safety Inspection Service reports over 70,000 pounds of ready-to-eat meat and poultry may contain the deadly listeria.

Older people who have a weakened immune system or are pregnant have more of a chance of a severe infection. Listeriosis causes flu-like symptoms such as fever, muscle aches, headache, confusion, and loss of balance. An infection can cause miscarriages in pregnant women or stillbirths, premature delivery, or a life-threatening illness for the baby.

The CDC also reported to the AP:11 people have been sickened, and nine needed hospital treatment while killing a pregnant woman's twins from California. Since only one of the babies tested positive for the listeria sample, only the mother and one of the babies were counted.
