CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - A Wednesday morning duplex fire left a family displaced, responders said.
Firefighters told The News-Gazette they responded before 1 a.m. Wednesday to 1618 West Union St, where they found smoke coming from one unit of a duplex. Responders quickly put out flames, which they said had just started moving past a bedroom.
A damage estimate is not yet available. Authorities are still investigating a cause.
The occupants were not home at the time of the fire.
