DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) – Care packages for U.S. military troops serving overseas. The 24-year tradition at Grace Methodist Church in Decatur is called Operation Enduring Support.

“We’re looking for addresses. Over the past few years, it’s gotten really hard to find addresses of military that were overseas,” Dianne Shaw told WAND News.

Monetary donations are needed to help cover shipping costs. Here is a partial list of items needed for the care packages:

- Playing cards

- Hand warmers

- Travel-size toothpaste and toothbrushes

- Black ball point pens and note pads (3.5x5” and 5x8”)

- Powdered drink mixes like Crystal Light and hot chocolate

- Protein bars/granola bars

- Alcohol free wet wipes/eyeglass wipes

- Nutritional Snacks/popcorn

- Travel size Q-tips, Chapstick, band aids

- Packets of Instant Coffee

- Solid deodorant/ Gold Bond Powder (1 oz)

- Eye drops

- Puzzle game books

- Gorilla Tape/Duct tape

- 2026 calendars
