(WAND) — Just a day after federalizing the Illinois National Guard, the Trump Administration is deploying members of the Texas National Guard to Illinois Sunday night.
Governor JB Pritzker said President Donald Trump ordered 400 members of the Texas National Guard for deployments in Illinois, Oregon and other locations throughout the country.
Pritzker said no officials from the government called him directly to discuss or coordinate the deployment.
"We must now start calling this what it is: Trump's Invasion," Pritzker said. "It started with federal agents, it will soon include deploying federalized members of the Illinois National Guard against our wishes, and it will now involve sending in another state's military troops."
Pritzker called on Texas Governor Greg Abbott to withdraw support for the decision and refuse to coordinate.
"There is no reason a President should send military troops into a sovereign state without their knowledge, consent, or cooperation," said Pritzker.
