CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) — The Champaign County Chamber of Commerce named Champaign Jewelers the 2024 Small Business of the Year.
This award is given yearly to a local business that has demonstrated exceptional growth, commitment to the community, and excellence in innovation and customer service.
This is the 13th year the award has been given to a business in Champaign County. Organizers said there were seven finalists for this year's award.
Champaign Jewelers is located in the Village at the Crossing. The business offers custom jewelry designs, repair, and appraisal services, which the Chamber of Commerce said has marked double-digit revenue growth in the past year.
One of the company's initiatives is the "Charity of the Month," which offers free battery watch replacements and band adjustments in exchange for a donation to a local charity. Champaign Jewelers has supported the CU Autism Network, The Family Room, CASA, United Way of Champaign County, and many others through this initiative.
Their approach has also extended to many local events and causes, such as the United Way of Champaign County's Power of the Purse and CASA, where they offer financial sponsorship, in-kind donations, and volunteer time.
The Chamber of Commerce said those initiatives set them apart in engaging causes in the community.

The award was presented at the iHotel and Conference Center on Friday, November 8, during the annual Champaign County Chamber of Commerce meeting.
