Chances of snow and rain this week

(WAND) - Central Illinois will see a few chances of rain and snow this week.

A weather system bringing rain to the south this morning will depart leaving us mostly cloudy today with highs in the 40s.

Another weak system will produce some light rain or a wintry mix tonight and early Tuesday. Highs Tuesday will creep into the mid-40s.

Some sunshine returns Wednesday with plenty of sunshine and warmer temperatures Thursday.

It remains rather warm Friday with increasing clouds. Highs Thursday will reach the mid-50s and close in on 60° Friday.

Rain is likely Friday evening into Saturday.

Models are bringing in colder air Saturday with rain possibly changing over to a light accumulation of snow Saturday night and early Sunday.

Since that's still many days away, it's something we'll keep an eye on.
