CHATHAM, Ill. (WAND) - Tuesday night, community members in Chatham gathered to remember Ainsley Johnson, Rylee Britton, Kathryn Corley, and Alma Buhnerkempe.

The four girls were killed Monday when a car crashed into the YNOT After School Camp.

Hundreds of people showed up wearing red, lighting candles in remembrance.

"It's the definition of what Chatham is," Village President Dave Kimsey said.

Red ribbons are scattered throughout the village to show 'Chatham Strong.'

"To those that are suffering and still fighting," Kimsey said, "it's a visual reminder that we're here for you."

Local religious leaders led the group in prayer, culminating in a moment of silence.

Another vigil will be held Wednesday, April 30th at Glenwood High School.

It starts at 7:30 at the football field.
