Cop on a Rooftop raises over $1M for Special Olympics Illinois

ILLINOIS (WAND)-Today, was the 21st annual Cop on a Rooftop event for Special Olympics Illinois.

Representatives from the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois stood the doors of 350 Dunkin' Dounts across Central IL.

Organizers said today's event raised over one million dollars, that will directly benefit Special Olympics Illinois athletes all across the state. And with today’s total, Cop on a Rooftop has raised nearly 10 million dollars for Special Olympics Illinois programming since it started in 2003.

From 5 a.m. until noon at participating Dunkin’ locations, Dunkin’ guests who donated to the fundraiser received a coupon for a free donut. And for those who donated $10 or more received a coupon for a free medium hot or iced coffee.
