MATTOON, Ill. (WAND) -- Illinois State Police has released the names of the four people killed in a small plane crash Saturday near the Coles-Cumberland County line.Â
The Coles County coroner confirmed the following identifications:
Ross R. Nelson, 46-year-old male from Menomonie, WI
Raimi A. Rundle, 45-year-old female from Menomonie, WI
Courtney L. Morrow, 36-year-old female from Menomonie, WI
Michael H. Morrow, 48-year-old male from Menomonie, WI
The FAA told WAND News a Cessna 180 crashed around 10:15 a.m. Saturday.
Illinois State Police said the plane crashed onto County Road 1400 North near Trilla. That's the county road for southern Coles County and northern Cumberland County.
The aircraft remained in the roadway with the roadway closed until approximately 5:00 p.m. Sunday.
According to Flight Aware, the plane left Hartford, Kentucky after 9 a.m. and an hour later is when it crashed.
The National Transportation Safety Board is leading the investigation.
Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D-IL) said Saturday on Facebook his administration is monitoring the situation.Â
"Terrible news out of Coles County," Pritzker said. "Thank you to the first responders who rushed to the scene." Pritzker said.Â
