Coroner: Man pulled from lake died from drowning

CLINTON, Ill. (WAND) - Investigators say a man who they pulled from Clinton Lake Thursday died from drowning. 

The DeWitt County Coroner identified the victim as Michael R. Dailey, 63. Preliminary autopsy results showed drowning as his cause of death. 

Several area departments were on scene at the lake near the State Recreation Center in Clinton on Thursday afternoon.  

Police confirmed the man was with another person on the lake. That second person managed to get back to the shore. 

Investigators say they do not suspect foul play. 

Officers recovered the victim from the water at about 1:40 p.m. after the call came in at 11 a.m. Police said it took them 20 minutes to get to the scene.Â
