DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - Police arrested a teen following a reported armed robbery in Danville Thursday afternoon. 

The Danville Police Department said a person had come into the Public Safety Building around 4 p.m. Thursday, saying they had been robbed at gunpoint along W. English Street. 

Following an investigation, Danville police identified the suspect as a 16-year-old. 

Police took the teen into custody just before 7 p.m. Thursday near Griffin Street and Mabin Street. 

No other information about the suspect will be released. 

They were taken to the Vermilion County Jail and booked on armed robbery charges.
