SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - An investigation is underway after a 19-year-old man was shot and killed in Springfield early Monday.
The Sangamon County Coroner identified the 19-year-old as Camren White of Stonington.
The Sangamon County Sheriff's Office was called out to the 800 block of West Lenox just after 1 a.m. for a call of gunshots.
Upon arrival officers found White who had been shot. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead at 1:46 a.m.
An autopsy shows White died from multiple gunshot wounds.
The death remains under investigation by the Sangamon County Coroner and the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office.
