2 accused of shooting up homes, vehicle in Springfield neighborhood

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - 2 people were arrested on charges of shooting up homes and a vehicle in a Springfield neighborhood in April.

The Sangamon County Sheriff's Office was called out to the 3200 block of Normandy Rd. in the Laketown neighborhood on April 24. Residents told deputies they heard multiple gunshots in the area at 9:40 a.m. Two homes and a car were struck. No one was injured, but numerous shell casings were found in the street.

Following an investigation, arrest warrants were issued for two people on June 11. Christopher D. Dibello, 20, and Darrian N. Stephenson, 19, both of Springfield, face charges of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm with No FOID, and Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.

Stephenson was arrested on June 12 in the 1500 block of East Edwards St. Dibello was taken into custody on June 15.
