THOMASBORO, Ill. (WAND) — Police arrested two suspects in relation to several burglaries at different Casey's General Stores in Champaign County.

37 year old Ryan Valencia and 36 year old Joseph Caldwell are facing several charges including burglary, possession of burglary tools, and resisting arrest.

Early Saturday morning, the Casey's at 408 N. Lincoln St. in Philo, IL was broken in to. Money and multiple items were stolen from the store. No arrests were made at the time.

At 1:23 a.m. Sunday morning, Champaign County Sheriffs responded to an alarm at the Casey's at 500 W. Center St. in Thomasboro, IL. Officers found the store was broken into.

Rantoul police was called to assist, and within minutes, officers saw a car that was linked to the burglary in Philo.

They pulled the car over, which had items tied to the burglaries. Both suspects ran from officers.

One suspect was quickly arrested. The other resisted, injuring an officer who was treated and later released from the hospital.

Further investigation led officers to an Urbana motel where the two had rented a room. They recovered over $8,000 in the room.
