DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) — A Danville man has been charged with multiple felonies after police say he fled from officers in a stolen vehicle on Sunday, June 15.

Danville police say an officer saw a stolen vehicle in the 100 block of North Bowman Avenue around 8 p.m. The officer stopped the vehicle, but the driver sped away shortly after.Â
With help from community members, police found the stolen vehicle parked in the 600 block of Dearborn Street. Nobody was in the car when they found it.
Using a K9, officers found the driver about four blocks away hiding in heavy brush. He was arrested and identified as 42-year-old Alejandro Cardoza.
Cardoza was booked on multiple charges, including:
- Possession of a stolen vehicle
- Driving with a suspended license
- Aggravated fleeing and eluding
- Obstructing/resisting a peace officer
- Criminal damage to property
