Drought conditions worsen, but rain chances in the forecast

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Rain chances are in the weekend forecast with better chances of rain next week.

While this likely won't be enough to erase the worsening drought conditions across Central Illinois, it'll help.

A few showers are possible this morning west, but we'll see more scattered showers this evening and tonight. A few more can't be ruled out Saturday.

Highs today and tomorrow will be in the upper-80s.

Shower and storm chances increase Saturday night into Sunday morning. A daily chance of showers and storms is forecast next week.

About that drought, 43% of Illinois is under a moderate drought and 20% is in a severe drought.
