CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) — A man is behind bars and another is in the hospital after a Sunday afternoon shooting in Champaign.
Police responded to the Oakwood Trace Apartments at 3:03 p.m. Once on scene, they found a man shot inside a vehicle. First responders took him to the hospital with life-threatening injuries but said he was stable by Sunday night.
Officers said Zaire Herman shot the man before running from the scene. They caught up to him nearby. Herman now faces multiple charges including aggravated battery with a firearm.
