DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - A man was arrested on drug charges Thursday after leading Danville police on a pursuit through parts of the city.
The Danville Police Department said that officers tried to do a traffic stop on a vehicle just after 10:30 p.m. on April 2 in the area of E. Main Street and Pennsylvania Avenue.Â
Police stated that the driver, later identified as 39-year-old Demitruis Davis, didn't stop and led officers on a chase through multiple streets.Â
During the chase, police said Davis had thrown items out of the vehicle, which were later discovered to be items including cocaine, ecstasy, cannibis and an alcoholic drink.
DPD added that the chase had ended safely in the area of English and Jackson Streets, with the help of the Vermilion County Sheriff's Department.Â
Davis was then taken into custody.Â
Danville police said a search found a lot of money inside, and the vehicle was impounded.Â
Davis was charged with delivery of meth, delivery of cocaine, delivery of cannabis, aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude police and driving with a revoked license.Â
