DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — A 16-year-old was taken to the hospital after being shot Friday afternoon in Decatur.

Heavy police and first responder presence was seen in the 700 block of East Whitmer Street around 2:00 p.m. on Friday.

According to Decatur police, a 16-year-old boy was found shot at the scene and was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

Police said they have no information on a possible suspect at this time. This is an ongoing investigation.
