Decatur shooting investigation Poole and Center

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Decatur Police have arrested a second person believed to be involved in a deadly shooting last week.

On May 22, officers with the Decatur Police Department responded to reports of shots fired near North Pool Street and West Center Street.

When officers arrived, they found 23-year-old Deamontae L. Weaver suffering from a gunshot wound inside a home in the 900 block of West Center Street. Weaver was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Police arrested 21-year-old Jarvis M. Smith Jr. later that day on a charge of first-degree murder.

On Friday, May 29, police made a second arrest after obtaining an arrest warrant for 20-year-old Zyishon J. Estes, also on a charge of first-degree murder. Estes was located and taken into custody in the 3400 block of West Main Street in Decatur.
