SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - A 47-year-old man shot and killed in Springfield after a large fight has been identified.
Calvin Bell, of Springfield, was pronounced dead by hospital staff at 2:26 a.m. on Saturday, shortly after his arrival.
According to Springfield Police on Saturday at 2:03 a.m. officers responded to the 800 block of Stevenson Drive for a report of a large fight.
Police said, as 911 was taking the call gunshots could be heard in the background.
Upon arrival police found Bell suffering from a gunshot wound. An autopsy was performed on Monday that confirmed Bell died from the wound.

Springfield Police detectives and crime scene personnel arrived on scene to interview witnesses and process evidence.
At approximately 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, Springfield Police Emergency Response Team served a search warrant in the 1500 block of west North Grand Avenue. Police transported two people to the Springfield Police Department for questioning.

Police said the deadly shooting is is an ongoing investigation and additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
