CLINTON, Ill. (WAND) -- One woman is recovering after she was hit by a car Friday night.
Clinton Police department said, it happened just before 10 p.m. near the Clinton Square.
At that time, it was closed to traffic for the MayDays Festival.
The woman was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover.
Saturday, Clinton Police arrested Damian Multine, 28 of Phoenix, AZ for leaving the scene of an accident involving personal injury. Which is a class four felony.
Multine was booked at the Dewitt County Jail and released on a Notice to Appear in court per the Illinois Safe-T Act.
The Clinton Police Department said on Facebook that as part of “speculation/rumor control” there is no correlation between Multine and the MayDays Carnival/Festival.
Police said that all suspects are innocent until proven guilty in court.
