Decatur City Council tables vote on new daycare center

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - City of Decatur leaders decided Monday night to table a vote on an agreement for a new daycare center.

The center—Love, Learning and Laughter—would be a 24-hour care service for families with children.

However, the cost of construction at the site of the former Wee Folks building has ballooned to more than $1.5 million.

The Decatur City Manager stated that staff and council members still have questions that need to be answered.

A meeting about the financials is scheduled for Tuesday, with a formal vote set for Oct. 20.
