DECATUR, Ill. (WAND)— Decatur Firefighters gave dogs oxygen through pet masks after putting out a kitchen fire.Â
The fire happened around 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the 1300 block of North Huron. DFD crews say they forced entry and quickly located a small kitchen fire, putting it out in about 20 minutes.
During their search of the house, they found three dogs. The DFD crew gave two of the dogs oxygen through a pet mask. They then transferred all three dogs to Macon County Animal Control.
Officials say the investigation reveals an electrical malfunction caused the fire and was unintentional.
