DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — One of three people charged in an August 2022 shooting has been found guilty of murder.
Dionte A. Robinson was found guilty of murder and aggravated discharge of a gun in a bench trial.
Robinson was arrested in connection to a shooting in the 1300 block of E. Sedgwick Street that happened on August 14, 2022. Police found 24-year-old Arrion McClelland with a gunshot to the head. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.
Robinson is due back in court Sept. 10 for sentencing. The sentencing range of the two charges, which must be served back-to-back, could mean that Robinson spends the rest of his life in prison.
Omari C. Walker and Kyle Escoe were also charged in the McClelland murder. They're both due back in court next month.
