DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Schools in Decatur will let out early on Tuesday, according to the school's Facebook page.Â
Students will be released after three hours of instruction on Tuesday, due to current temperatures and forecasted heat.Â
According to the district, students will be dropped off at their normal bus stops. Pershing Early Learning morning programs will dismiss at noon and the afternoon program will not be in session.Â
Any after school practices or games for elementary students are canceled. Middle and High School practices and game cancellations will be determined by the building administration, in accordance to the IESA and IHSA guidelines for heat.Â
Special Educations students without a Latch-Key agreement will be dropped off at Harris Elementary where parents will be called to pick up their student immediately.Â
