Decatur - A man who tried persuading a witness in a murder case has been sentenced.

 

Demarta Cunningham, 29, has been sentenced to four years and six months in prison. Police say he tried persuading a witness in a murder case.

 

Cunningham is awaiting trial for the 2012 murder of Freedom and Central Cunningham. Police believe the shooting was a result of a dispute over drugs and money.

 

Cunningham has pleaded not guilty, and is being held without bond at the Macon County Jail. Â
