New earthquake educational tool to be shown at IEMA Training Summit

CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ill. (WAND) - A 3.8 magnitude earthquake rattled parts of central Illinois early Tuesday morning. 

The U.S. Geological Survey said the epicenter was just northwest of Ohlman in Christian County. The depth was approximately 5.5 miles.

There were no reports of damage. 

The shaking started around 1:30 a.m. and was felt in Peoria to the north, St. Louis to the west, and even parts of eastern Illinois. 

USGS said there was light to moderate shaking. An earthquake of this magnitude rarely would cause damage.
