CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ill. (WAND) - A driver was airlifted to the hospital after a wreck on Illinois Route 48 in Christian County.Â
It happened on IL Route 48 north of North Street at 10:35 p.m. Wednesday.Â
Illinois State Police troopers said a Ford Mustang was traveling southwest on IL-48 and a semi was going northeast on IL-48.Â
Troopers said that for an unknown reason, the Ford crossed the center lane and hit the semi head-on.Â
The driver of the Ford was airlifted to the hospital.Â
The driver of the semi was not hurt.Â
IL-48 was shut down while officers investigated until approximately 6:30 a.m. on Thursday.Â
