TOLONO, Ill. (WAND) - A driver was uninjured after her car was hit by a train in Tolono Friday morning.Â
The Champaign County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called to the area of 900 N. at US Rt. 45 at 7:30 a.m.Â
Deputies said a vehicle was stopped westbound sitting behind several vehicles waiting at a stop sign. When the railroad warning lights activated, the driver thought she was off the railroad tracks. A train hit the back of the vehicle.Â
The driver, a 40-year-old Philo woman, was taken to the hospital but had no obvious injuries. She was the only one inside the vehicle.Â
The driver was issued citations for stopping, standing, or parking where prohibited and one for expired registration.Â
