CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - Champaign Unit 4 School District began its first round of forums in its ongoing superintendent search.

Unit 4 had its first two forums on Wednesday, with the remaining taking place on the following dates:

  • Thursday, Nov. 13, 6 p.m. at Garden Hills Academy
  • Monday, Nov. 17, 6 p.m. at Barkstall Elementary
  • Tuesday, Nov. 18, 6 p.m. at Stratton Academy

James Guerra, the CEO of JG Consulting, the firm hired by the school board to help with the search, shared the overall goal of the forums during the search.

"I want to poach and recruit them away from a successful job. The school board will have the ultimate authority to hire the next superintendent and we will help support them in the recruitment of those based on the qualities you have shared," Guerra said.

The forums are open to the public, and responses to the district's community survey can be filled out online.
