(WAND) - The Illinois Education Association (IEA), Illinois's largest educators' union, has released its annual report detailing the state of education in Illinois.

The report is filled with loads of data, but union leaders highlighted their membership's majority opposition to ICE enforcement near their schools and communities.

Groups also showed opposition to federal funding cuts on educational programs, and a majority said funding for public schools should be increased.

"You can see, regardless, whether they're parents or not, Illinoisans largely believe the quality of their public schools impacts the quality of their communities and has a direct impact on the values of their homes," said IEA President Karl Goeke.

The IEA said the report is bipartisan and that pollsters involved in the study were from both Democrat and Republican-backed polling groups.
