(WAND) - Heather Ethell has been appointed as Assistant Regional Superintendent for the Macon-Piatt Regional Office of Education #39.

Regional Superintendent of Schools Jill Reedy made the announcement that Ethell will start her new role on July 1.

Ethell has 25 years of educational experience.

She will support school districts throughout Macon and Piatt counties. "I am excited to expand my impact beyond a single school district by supporting schools across the region, building partnerships with educational leaders, and contributing to initiatives that improve outcomes for students and educators," Ethell said.

"Heather has dedicated her career to supporting student success and helping educators grow," said Reedy. "Her leadership experience, collaborative approach, and passion for education will be tremendous assets to the Regional Office and the schools we serve."

"As our programs, partnerships, and responsibilities have continued to grow, so has the need for additional leadership capacity," added Reedy. "Heather's appointment reflects our commitment to providing strong support to school districts while continuing to expand services that positively impact students across the region."

The appointment marks the restoration of a full-time Assistant Regional Superintendent position.
