CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) — Sen. Paul Faraci (D-Champaign) won reelection for the 52nd Senate district Tuesday night.
Faraci faced Republican challenger Jeff Brownfield of Champaign.
Faraci took home 9,639 votes to Brownfield's 6,107, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections. Â
The 52nd Senate district spans from Champaign-Urbana south to Savoy, north to Rantoul, and east to the Indiana border.Â
Faraci has served in the General Assembly since 2023.
