MATTOON, Ill. (WAND) - Fire engulfed a home in Mattoon Tuesday night.
According to the Mattoon Fire Department, firefighters were called to a home in the 200 block of Piatt Avenue East just after 11 p.m. Tuesday.
The department said firefighters arrived and found heavy fire coming from a garage, the home, and 3 vehicles in the driveway.
Mattoon Fire Chief Jeff Hilligoss said everyone inside the home made it out safely.Â
The fire was under control in approximately 45 minutes. Crews then began putting out remaining hot spots and searching for any hidden fire in the walls and between floors of the residence.
No injuries were reported.
Hilligoss said the home is uninhabitable due to the fire, and the residents are getting assistance from the American Red Cross.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
