SPRINGFIELD- An improvised explosive device was found in downtown Springfield Monday night.
First responders were called to E. Washington Street just before 6:30 PM. Many of the buildings nearby were empty because it was after work hours. However Brewhaus, a pub on the 600 block of E. Washington St., had to be evacuated.
The device was blown up by a bomb squad. No one was injured. Anyone with information is asked to call Springfield Police or Sangamon County Crimestoppers
