CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) — One person was taken to the hospital in serious condition after being stabbed several times in Champaign Saturday evening.
According to the Champaign Police Department, officers responded to reports of a stabbing in the 1000 block of Crescent Drive just after 5 p.m. That is near Centennial High School.
When officers arrived, they found a 37-year-old person who had been stabbed multiple times. The victim was taken to the hospital in "serious condition."
After an initial investigation, Champaign police said the stabbing happened in the 2600 block of West Springfield Avenue, just under a mile away from where the victim was found.
