CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) — A multi-million dollar project years in the making is now complete in one Champaign neighborhood.

The $62 million project in Champaign's Garden Hills neighborhood improved storm water drainage, added new lighting, and upgraded community spaces.

Hedge Pop! Park also received improvements, equipped with a new splash pad, basketball court and playground equipment.

City leaders said the improvements will help reduce flooding and create more opportunities for kids and families to enjoy the neighborhood.

More information on the project can be found here.
