SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum will celebrate Abraham Lincoln's birthday with two days of free admission.
Guests will be able to get into the ALPLM for free on his actual birthday, February 12, and also on Saturday, February 7, for a day of stories, games and music for children.
The ALPLM will also have its signed copy of the Emancipation Proclamation on display.Â
"Abraham Lincoln loved books and understood their power to change lives," said ALPLM Executive Director Christina Shutt. "That's why we celebrate his birthday by encouraging children to read. We hope parents and caregivers from all over will bring their little ones on this special day."
The "Lincolns4Lincoln Literacy Jam" will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on February 7. It includes children's stories read by special guests, musical performances and magic tricks.Â
The celebration is back on February 12, where visitors can meet Mr. Lincoln from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and enjoy live music.
