CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) — Champaign Police are looking for a suspect after a shooting left one man dead Friday morning.
It happened around 12:30 a.m. at the 1900 block of W. Bradley Avenue.
Officers responded and searched the area after reports of a shooting with injuries.
A short time later, 32-year-old Martez L. Jones of Urbana arrived at a nearby hospital by personal transport with gunshot injuries.
Jones was in critical condition. He was taken into surgery, where he died.
Police say Jones was outside of a business when multiple shots were fired. The shooter ran off, and Jones was taken to the hospital.
Multiple vehicles were also damaged.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. Police say they are still gathering evidence and looking for witnesses.
Any nearby homes or businesses with surveillance cameras are encouraged to notify the police.
