(WAND) - The Chestnut Fire Department is now facing a sudden closure.
The Mount Pulaski Rural Fire Protection District, which governs the Chestnut department, will suspend the department's operations.
The board of trustees recently approved a leadership change in the district, and the decision was made "to ensure continued compliance with District policies."
No other details, including what caused the closure, were provided.
The Mount Pulaski district added that EMS and fire services will continue in the Chestnut territory.
