SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - City Water Light and Power is inviting the Capitol City to take a peek behind the curtain and see where their water begins. 

CWLP's water plant open house will take place from 4-7 p.m. Monday, June 15, at 3100 Stevenson Dr. in Springfield. 

CWLP said that attendees can meet water department staff, and there will be giveaways, along with educational stations on water testing, conservation, boating safety and lake patrol operations. 

Additionally, open house walking tours will take place at 4:15 p.m., 5:15 p.m. and 6:15 p.m.
