(WAND) - A Logan County Board member said Thursday evening that more legal review is needed before data center regulations can be discussed.
The board approved a 12-month moratorium on data centers in May.
Residents had a chance to share what could be done better during a public comment session.
"I think what a lot of us want is just more engagement with the public. We would like another open session to talk about the ordinance to make sure concerns are addressed," one resident said.
If the rules are approved, they would apply to any future data centers that come to Logan County.
No data centers can submit proposals until after the 12-month moratorium.
The proposed regulations simplify the process for zoning approval and include restrictions on things like noise, water and environmental concerns.
