DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — The Decatur Fire Department is investigating after a home caught fire early Sunday morning.
According to the department, firefighters responded to reports of a fire at a home near the intersection of South Maffit Street and East Johns Avenue just after 4:30 a.m.
Crews found a 1 1/2-story house on fire. DFD said firefighters used a defensive strategy due to the extent of the fire and the structural instability of the building caused by previous fires.
