DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) — A large distribution company in Danville will be leaving Illinois next year.

According to the city of Danville, the Hyster-Yale Group will be relocating operations to Indiana by the end of 2026.

Hyster-Yale is a global manufacturer of material handling equipment like forklifts. The supplier's Danville location is located on the east side of Danville on East Fairchild Street.

The city of Danville said they have worked extensively with Hyster-Yale over the last two years to try and keep the company in Vermilion County.

According to the city, the final incentive package provided by Danville included a sanitary sewer extension valued at upwards of $1 million, an enterprise zone expansion, rezoning of the selected parcel, and a $1.5 million cash incentive for the Hyster-Yale Group's relocation.

"While this was not the desired outcome, the city of Danville takes great pride in the collaboration, dedication, and shared purpose demonstrated by all partners involved," Danville Mayor Rickey Williams Jr. said in a press release. "These relationships have strengthened our foundation and reaffirmed the unwavering spirit that defines our community."

The city said "comprehensive and proactive measures" are being taken to help the employees and families affected by the closure. It is unclear what those measures are.

WAND News has reached out to Hyster-Yale for comment, but has not heard back.
