MILFORD, Ill. (WAND) — A man was arrested in relation to a house fire in Iroquois County that left one woman dead in October 2025.
According to the Iroquois County Sheriff's Office, 53-year-old Christopher Burton was arrested Friday on a charge of first degree murder.
Police said the arrest comes after a months-long investigation into a house fire near the intersection of Grant Avenue and Frederick Street in October 2025 that led to the death of 37-year-old Ashley Tucker.
According to police, investigators reviewed evidence, witness statements, surveillance footage and cellular location data to find out what led to the fire.
The sheriff's office said the investigation is still active, and no more information will be released at this time.
