DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — The man killed in a shooting in Decatur Friday afternoon has been identified.

The Decatur Police Department told WAND News that officers responded to reports of a shooting just after 10 a.m. near the intersection of North Poole Street and West Center Street.

When they arrived, officers found a 23-year-old man, later identified as Deamontae L. Weaver of Decatur, who had been shot inside a home in the 900 block of West Center Street. He was taken to the hospital, where he died.

No arrests have been made at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
