EFFINGHAM, Ill. (WAND) — One person was sent to the hospital after two semi trucks crashed and were engulfed in flames in Effingham County Saturday.
According to Illinois State Police, troopers responded to the crash on I-70 westbound at milepost 90 near Effingham just after 10:30 a.m.
ISP said both semis were fully engulfed in flames when troopers arrived.
One driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to the Effingham Fire Department. The second driver was evaluated at the scene and declined transport to the hospital.Â
Both westbound lanes were shut down, and one lane reopened just before 12 p.m.
State police said no more information is available at this time.
